New wild cat species discovered in Bolivia for the first time in a century

Scientists have discovered a new species of wild cat for the first time in more than a century, a Bolivian researcher told a media. Just days after being discovered as the only confirmed example of a new feline species, Bolivia's tilcayo cat rests under the light rain of the Yungas region where he lives inside a wildlife refuge.

The Senda Verde Wildlife refuge received the cat almost a decade ago, and had never presented the feline to the public until the announcement of the new species, Leopardus tilcayo.
