Egypt has proposed an initial two-day ceasefire in Gaza to exchange four Israeli hostages of Hamas for some Palestinian prisoners, as stated by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. This announcement follows Israeli military strikes that reportedly killed 45 Palestinians. Sisi noted that discussions should resume within 10 days after the temporary ceasefire to pursue a more permanent agreement.

While there was no immediate response from Israel or Hamas, a Palestinian official mentioned that Hamas might consider the new offers, emphasizing that any agreement must lead to an end to the conflict and withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
