Nearly 2,000 soldiers participated in Sweden’s largest military exercise in central Stockholm, simulating terrorism and subversion scenarios near the parliament and government buildings.

Colonel Gustaf Dufberg, Commander, Life Guards regiment said  "The scenario is that we have a deteriorated security situation in Europe and the government has decided to reinforce the protection of the parliament and the government buildings by the armed forces. So that's what we basically are training here for today."

Soldiers practiced handling threats, including a simulated bomb scare, with quick response teams securing the area. Colonel Gustaf Dufberg highlighted the importance of balancing public confidence with threat management. The training also reinforced skills needed for guarding key sites and engaging with the public.
