Myanmar Special Economic Zones : Central Working Body visits Thilawa SEZ

Chairman of Myanmar Special Economic Zones Central Working Body Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw and Vice Chairman Union Minister U Chit Swe visited the Thilawa Special Economic Zone on Thursday.

During the visit, officials from Thilawa SEZ presented updates on current operations and future plans. Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw stated that the visit aims to support the development of SEZ operations and emphasized the importance of maintaining progress, attracting more investment, and encouraging the use of solar energy in factories.

Union Minister U Chit Swe highlighted that many products in the Promotion Zone are import substitutes, and suggested improving exports and connecting with local SMEs to supply raw materials needed by factories.

They also inspected the One Stop Service Center (OSSC), and Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT). They also visited Denko Oil Terminal, Wilmar Myanmar Port Terminals (Thilawa), and Thaketa Port to observe cargo handling and storage activities.
