




Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo received a delegation led by Major General Vanhthong BOUDTAVONG, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Department of the Lao People’s Army, Tuesday morning at the Zeyathiri Beikman Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, the two sides cordially and openly discussed matters related to further strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Laos as well as between the two countries’ armed forces. They also discussed the positive progress in bilateral diplomatic relations, military relations, and cooperation among ASEAN member states. In addition, discussions covered the close cooperation among the four CLMV member countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam as well as collaboration within the Greater Mekong Sub-Region and the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) framework on regional development matters.
The two sides also discussed exchanges between the two armed forces, including goodwill visits, cultural groups, sports teams, and trainees, as well as enhanced cooperation on border security and stability, including security along the Mekong River, etc. After the discussions, commemorative gifts were exchanged, and the attendees took a group documentary photograph together, it’s learnt.
