Myanmar-Korea friendship bridge:Construction works completed at over 49%

The Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge (Yangon-Dala) which crosses the Yangon River and will link to Dala Township in Yangon region is under construction and over 49% of all the construction works have been completed. 

The Myanmar-Korea friendship bridge is being built with the purpose of speeding up the flow of goods and socio-economic development and estimated to be completed the construction works in 2024. The total length of bridge is 6128 feet with 4 lane road. 

Kyaw Kaung Cho,,DYDG- Department of Bridge,,Ministry of Construction, said " After completed the construction works, the bridge will become a gateway link from Yangon to Ayeyarwady region. Among the existing bridges in Myanmar, this one is the highest and biggest bridge, and it will become as a landmark of Yangon. The construction works are underway to build by the Myanmar engineers from engineering department and the foreign engineers with Korea technology. So we can say that it is very beneficial for the capacity development of Myanmar. "

When the bridge is completed, public can easily travel from Yangon to Dala, Twantay, Kawhmu, Kun Chan Kone townships as well as along with the coastal areas and the Ayeyarwady region. Also it will reduce the traffic congestion in Yangon to some extent.
