Myanmar / China: CM holds talks with Ambassador and Deputy Minister

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan on Saturday received the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Chen Hai.

This meeting at the state government office focussed on acceleration of agricultural products trading, border trade highways and border gates upgrade, assistance in matters of rehabilitation and resettlement of those staying in IDP camps and cooperation in the development of the education sector.

After the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador donated 5 million Kyats for education and social development activities in the state.

On the same day, the Chief Minister held talks with the Chinese Deputy Minister for Ministry of Veteran Affairs Mr. Chen Peng.

This meeting discussed matters including the importance of mutual understanding and trust as well as cooperation for border trade and invstement, large-scale repair work on the road section of Waingmaw-Wahshaung-Sadon-Kanpitetee, completion of the Moemauk-Lwaljal road within the specified period, acceptance of more Myanmar agricultural products in China's import list and establishing agricultural zones and allowing the governmental employees and farmers to study in China's plantations.
