Myanmar Cement Association: Coordination meeting on the reformation of MCA held

The coordination meeting on the reformation of Myanmar Cement Association – MCA and the operation of cement factories with full machinary capacity was held at the Ministry of Industry, Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. Also present at the meeting were the Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, deputy minister, the managing director of No (2) Heavy Industry, cement manufacturing entrepreneurs, factory in-charges and officials concerned from the ministry of industry.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that the ministry of industry indorsed and approved regarding the registration of association to form Myanmar Cement Association – MCA in 2019. As the Myanmar Cement Association is a national level organization, all are urged to make necessary suggesions for the reformaton of association in the conformity with the procedures.

The Prime Minister gave a guidance to put efforts for the operation of domestic cement factories with full machinary capacity to manufacture cements meeting the quality standards, required for the construction works, to shift Dry Method from Wet Method in the cement manufacturing process to save the energy, to support the domestically manufacturing cements, to manufacture good quality domestic cements and reduce the import of cements from abroad.

The laboratories are being established to test the quality of local manufacturing cements and those imported from abroad. The manufacturers should keep eye on the status of market.

 As the reformation of Myanmar Cement Association will be beneficial for giving helping hands to solve the difficulties facing by the cement manufacturers, supervisng to manufacture keeping given quality standards, bringing cements met quality standards with resonable price to the construction entrepreneurs and people and fulfilling required cements with good quality to the country in timely manner. So, the suggestions are invited for the reformation of Myanmar Cement Association with the representatives from various social strata.

Then, the meeting attendees reported the status of manufacturing in the factories and the difficultirs facting and made necessary suggestions to form Myanmar Cement Association. The Union Minister gave a speech of conclusion.
