






Member of the State Administration Council, Union Minister of Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut received Director General of Bangladeshi Border Guard General Shakil Ahmed of (SPP, nswc, afwc, psc) and delegation at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw, Friday.
They discussed matters relating Myanmar-Bangladesh border security and law and order, prevention against trans-border crimes, illegal trespassing along the border and more information exchanges. The Bangladesh side assured that they will never allow its territory to be used by any terrorist group for illegal activities while taking more control measures along with Myanmar border guard police force. Moreover, both sides agreed to conduct joint petrol along the border line for peace and security.
Both sides cordially exchanged views on building mutual trust and understanding for further accelerating bilateral friendship. The 11-member senior officialsdelegation of Bangladesh visited Nay Pyi Taw via Yangon on 23rd November. The 8thSeniorOfficials Meeting of Myanmar-Bangladesh Border Guards was held at MyanmarPolice Force Headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw, on the 24th.
From Myanmar side, 15-member delegation led by Deputy Chief (2) of Myanmar Police Force PoliceMaj-Gen Aung Naing Thu also attended the meeting. On the occasion, both sidessignedand exchanged theJoint Record of Discussion (JRD).
After that, both sides met with the press where they clarified on the signed JRD which agreed 14 areas concerning the elimination on trans-border crimes, illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, terrorism, so also long term cooperation plans on border patrolling and holding meetings regularly from the senior officials level to different levels for more information exchanges.
In the afternoon, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet also held meeting with the visiting Bangladesh delegation.
