











Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited the construction site of Myanmar Art Center in Yangon on Friday. Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn reported on the updates of the construction works.
The Acting President instructed for systematic installation of international standing settings, along with the lighting and audio systems, readied to stage the operas. He stressed that the center also aims to develop the Myanmar movie, theatrical drama and music industry.
The Acting President and party later inspected the progress of construction works. The initiative for construction of Art Center began during the tenure of the then President U Thein Sein, aiming to establish the international standard art facilities in Yangon and Mandalay.
The construction works have been halted due to various circumstances during the tenure of the second democratic government. The construction has now resumed, with the designs focus on Myanmar traditional cultural works.
