The Myanmar sports team competed in 31st South East Asia Games of 2021 held in Hanoi and other cities of Vietnam, arrived back at Yangon International Airport in 23rd May.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Yangon Region Ministers, officials from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, families and fans welcomed back for the Myanmar sports teams.
In 31st SEA Games, Myanmar team won 9 gold, 18 silver and 34 bronze medals while Vovinam team is recognized as the most successful Myanmar team by winning 3 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals.
The Wushu team won 1gold, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes while the Bodybuilding team bagged 1gold, 2 silvers and 1 bronze medal. Also the Kurash team won 1gold, 1silver and 2 bronze medals & the Petanque team won 1 gold, 2 bronze medals. Meanwhile, the Myanmar Billiards and Snookers team grabbed 1gold, 1 silvers and 1 bronze medal.
On the other hand, Sepak Takraw team won one more gold and 3 bronze medals while the Track and Field team won 2 silvers. Also the Shooting team won another 2 silvers and the Canoeing & Kayak team bagged 1 silver and 3 bronzes.
The international Rowing team grabbed 3 bronzes and the Boxing team won 1 silver and 2 bronzes while the Archery team won 1 bronze and the Weightlifting team grabbed another bronze medal. Myanmar Sports team finished rank 7th with total 62 medals in 31st SEA Games.
The Myanmar team, who won gold, silvers and bronze medals winners and trainers, will be awarded with 30 million, 20 million and 10 million kyats respectively for the individual events.
As an additional prize, athletes of solo events will receive 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 USD for each gold, silver and bronze medal. In team competitions, individual athletes will get US 1,000, 750 and 500 USD for gold, silver and bronze medals.
