MSMEs Development: PM met local businessmen in Kachin State

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with MSME businessmen from Kachin State at the City Hall of Myitkyina on Tuesday.

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan reported on implementation of Myitkyina Economic Development Zone, formation of Industrial Committee, assistance being provided to MSME businesses, disbursement of loans, production of One Village One Product and implementation of agriculture and livestock breeding tasks with the State Economic Development Fund.

MSME businessmen also reported the obstacles and assistance to be provided by the government including taxation, low interest loan, better transportation access and other requirements. The Union Ministers and the Deputy Ministers explained the efforts for human resource development, regional development works, assistance being provided to MSME businesses, providing capitals through the State Economic Development Fund, and expanding the market for MSME businesses.

The Prime Minister said the government is encouraging for development of MSME businesses to promote local businesses, to substitute imports and to boost the export sector. He pledged to provide assistance by the government as much as possible for development of MSME businesses in Kachin State and called for cooperation of local businessmen.

The Prime Minister later viewed the displays of mineral products, foodstuff, consumer products, industrial products, traditional products, clothes and traditional medicines. He also asked about the market condition and the respective businessmen made explanations.
