Mount Anak Krakatau in Indonesia erupts

The Anak Krakatau volcano in Indonesia erupted, spewing a column of ash 1,000 meters to the sky on Wednesday, according to the country's Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation.

The volcano located in the waters of Sunda Strait. Since its birth in June 1927, Anak Krakatau’s volcanic activity has been on the rise, making its body larger and taller, up to 157 m above the sea level.
