Morocco to improve earthquake education

The Moroccan government and UNESCO announced a new project to improve methods for predicting and preventing earthquake risks, after the devastating 2023 Marrakesh–Safi earthquake that struck the Al Haouz province.

This initiative aims to strengthen the Moroccan network for earthquake prediction and prevention, and to raise the level of skills of Moroccan professionals in the field of seismology. In addition to raising the level of awareness and education, with the aim of preparing citizens to confront seismic risks.
