Monsoon Paddy market : Around 1 million kyats per 100 baskets transacted

The monsoon paddy rice entering into the Myanmar Rice Trader’s Association’s Rice Commodity Exchange (Bayintnaung) is increasing especially monsoon paddy yielded in Yangon, Ayyawaddy and Bago regions.

The most of the regions have already yielded some various kinds of rice, and developing the rice market. 

Than Oo, Secretary, MRTA, RCX (Bayintnaung), said " This year is a good year for farmers and rice sellers. The paddy is transacted around 1 million kyats per 100 baskets and it is also beneficial for the farmers. The current prices of rice are at the rate of 40,000 kyats and 41,000 kyats per bag. The rice price cannot decline currently because the companies made the panic buying in the market. Sinthwe rice is being exporting to the foreign market and the local consumers accepted the quality of Sinthwe rice as well. Also the new Pawsan rice appears in the market and people can buy at the rate of around 40,000 kyats per bag." 

There are about 100,000 bags of rice arrived at the Myanmar Rice Trader’s Association Rice Commodity Exchange (Bayintnaung)  daily and, ManawThukha and YadanarToe rice are also included in the choices of consumers in the market.
