MOI’s Announcement: Ministry of Information Issues Announcement

Ministry of Information issued an announcement on Tuesday.

It said that the Office of the President released Order No (1/2021) on 1 February 2021 declaring the State of Emergency and the emergency declaration shall remain in force for one year, effective from 1 February 2021 according to Article 417 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

The Order also stated that electoral fraud in multiparty general election conducted on 8 November 2020 caused the loss of the unity of the ethnic nationalities and the stability of the country.

As it failed to address the cases, the Tatmadaw conducted in accordance with the law as it might cause obstacles in the pathway to democracy. However, some of the media organizations and people are posting rumours on social media, releasing statements to occur riot and unstable situation.

Therefore, it is here announced that not to make such moves, and to cooperate with the government in accordance with the existing laws.
