MLC Cooperation: Regional Digital Technology Seminar

With Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2024, Department of MSME Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conducted the Regional Digital Technology Seminar in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The event was attended by Union Minister U Hla Moe along with the Directors General and concerned officials. In his opening speech, the Union Minister said the vital role of digital technology for nation’s development in implementing socio-economic development and government services. With Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2024, the Department of MSME Development is striving for the growth of agro based industries for more production of value added products under the 2 projects: Promotion of Agro-Based Small Scale Manufacturing and Enhancing Digital Technology of Micro and Small Scale Industries for the Promotion of MSMEs and Sustainable Development of Digital Economy. 

The projects are implemented for registration certificate issuance for MSMEs through online platforms and upgrading of e-commerce platform for small scale enterprises. The Union Minister urged all the related department and stakeholders for the development of Myanmar Digital Economy practicing the knowledge gained from the seminar at their respective work fields.

The officials from Chinese Embassy in Myanmar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also delivered speeches and the video clip on working process implementing with Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2024 was screened. The seminar then continued and officials from the Department of Trade, Myanmar Computer Federation and UMFCCI and experts from China made discussions.
