Mini marathon competition: Bago Region Government organized the event

Organized by Bago Region Government, men’s/women’s mini marathon competition to mark the 76th Anniversary Union Day was held in Bago on Wednesday.

Officials of Bago Region Government kicked off the events at the designated places. The locals and students cheered the runners along the road. The Region Chief Minister and many other officials cheered the participants in front of Hanthawady United football pitch. It was followed by the prize presentation ceremony.

Officials of the Regional Government and concerned departments presented special awards and cash prizes to winning men and women athletes and a lucky draw programme was also included for the athletes who completed the finish line crossings. 255 men athletes and 225 women athletes, altogether 480 participated in the mini-marathon competition.

After that, the Region Chief Minister and officials observed selling of rice and curries to people with reasonable prices at the pagoda market and the Bago General Hospital under the arrangement of Regional Government and selling of vegetables, meats, fish and eggs by Tatmadaw men.
