Military Cooperation Agreement: MOD UM received Russian Deputy Defense Minister

Union Minister for Defense, General Maung Maung Aye, received a courtesy call from Mr. Vasilii Sergeevich Osmakov, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, at the Union Minister’s Office Reception Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on February 2.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in a cordial and open exchange of views on the strategies to further enhance defense cooperation between the two ministries, military-technical collaboration between the two armed forces, joint efforts in military training and education.

Following the meeting, a ceremony to sign a Military Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Defense of Myanmar and Russia was held at the Union Minister’s Office Meeting Hall. The agreement was signed by the respective Deputy Defense Ministers Major General Aung Myo Thant and Mr. Vasilii Sergeevich Osmakov (Russia). The meeting and signing ceremony were attended by the Union Minister for Defense, the Deputy Minister, and other senior officials, it’s learnt.
