MIL and Cyber Wellness: Sharing session on misinformation & disinformation

Media and information literacy-MIL and Cyber Wellness training course was conducted at Myanma Radio and Television in Yangon on Monday.

The training course aimed to raise awareness about misinformation, disinformation and mal-information on the social media platform to departmental staffs and to gain critical thinking to the staffs as there are increasing social media users in accord with the changing world.

According to the official, the course intended to identify between fake and authentic news concerning media because of rising social media users and spreading fake news. 

Zeyar, Director, Myanma Radio and Television said "This course is undertaken as a sharing session for departmental staffs to get experience and knowledge about media and information literacy-MIL and cyber wellness. Altogether 60 staffs from MRTV office in Yangon and MRTV head office in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkon joined the course. We made discussion about spending time effectively on social media which is so called virtual world, using social media in a positive way and balanced livings between the actual world and virtual world. "

During the training course, the official explained and shared contents which are necessary to know for MRTV staffs through the video clips. 

Zeyar, Director, Myanma Radio and Television said "We shared the tips and suggestions on how to respond fake news. And we also discussed about the key message of cyber wellness and do’s and don’ts. This training course was conducted to know well about news and to be able to undertake the processes with experience and critical thinking. "

A total of 60 MRTV staffs from Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon attended the course, aiming to disseminate and share authentic news to the public.
