Mid-year Gem Emporium: Aiming for economic benefits for the citizens

Aiming to earn foreign income for the state and to gain economic benefits for the citizens, gem emporiums have been held since 1964. At present, the mid-year Myanmar Gems Emporium is being held at Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw with the sales of jade, gems and pearls.

The floor price for pearl lots is set in USD, and foreign merchants have to pay in USD, Thai Baht and Yuan. For the gems and jade lots, the floor prices are set in euros, and foreign merchants have to make payment in USD, euros, Thai baht and yuan, while local merchants will be in Myanmar Kyats.

The minimum basic price for raw jade sets is set at USD 1,000 for pearl lots, 500 euros for gem lots, 1,000 euros for finished jade lots and 5,000 euros for raw jade lots.

The emporium will be held until the 25th of this month and 400 lots of pearl, 120 lots of gems, 2,150 lots of jade are put on sale through open tender system.
