





The Myanmar Investment Commission approved 35 new investment projects during its meeting on Sunday, which are expected to create more than 5,000 jobs.
The meeting was attended by Commission Chairman Union Minister U Mya Tun Oo and members. The newly approved projects include foreign and local investments in manufacturing, electricity, agriculture, hotels and tourism, transportation, communication, solar panel production, mobile phone assembly, and garment industries.
The total investment amounts to approximately 41 million US dollars and 1.96 trillion kyats. As of February 2026, Singapore, China, and Thailand are the largest investors in Myanmar, mainly in electricity, oil and gas, and industrial sectors. The commission continues to review new proposals and support ongoing projects under Myanmar’s investment laws.
