Mexican soldiers clash with Haitian and African migrants near southern border

A member of Mexican NGO captured videos of clashes between police and protesters from Haiti and Africa on Tuesday.

It came amidst a crackdown on migrants coming through the Mexican southern border en route towards the United States. This standoff took place outside the Siglo XXI immigrant detention centre at the southern border city of Tapachula, near Guatemala. These migrants are protesting the speed at which humanitarian visas are being processed by Mexican immigration officials.
