Mexican parade of colorful sculptures of mythical creatures ahead Day of the Dead

Mexican brightly coloured folk art sculptures representing fantastical creatures, 'Alebrijes', are seen ahead of Day of the Dead celebrations.

The colourful parade celebrates the cycle of life and death and sees many festival-goers paint their faces. The Alebrijes are statues representing imaginary beings mixing several animals, fantastic or real and they come from the region of Oaxaca in Mexico.
