Meeting for Tazaungdaing: Plans revealed for festival in Bago

Bago Region Government held a meeting with concerned departmental officials and town elders to hold the Tazaungdaing Festival on a grand scale in Bago Township.

In the meeting at the regional government office, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win revealed plans including charity feast for 10,000 visitors, entertainment programmes, hot air balloon festivals, non-stale robe offering ceremony and escalator opening ceremony at the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Kathina robe offering ceremony and security measures.

In this meeting, duties were assigned and general discussions were made to successfully hold the Tazaungdaing Festival. And, the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions. The Tazaungdaing Festival held on the full moon day of Tazaungmon, the eighth month of the Myanmar calendar marks the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the Kathina season, during which monks are offered new robes and alms.
