Meeting with Tatmadaw families: SAC VC met Tatmadaw members and families

SAC Vice-Chair Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice-Senior General Soe Win meets Tatmadaw members and families in Sittway Station at respective station halls and Yeiktha in Sittway and Buthidaung stations on Monday.

Speaking at the meetings, the Vice-Senior General said that the Tatmadaw members from the military command are discharging the important duties of defending the coastal lines and Myanmar territorial waters.

The budget of the State is allotted to gradually upgrade the Tatmadaw (Navy) in order to defend the coasts and territorial waters, he pointed out that armed conflicts in Rakhine State caused terrible loss to local people in social and economic sectors.

So, it is necessary to sustain the situation not to cause such events happen again. With regard to the offer of the Head of State for talking about peace issues, leaders of five ethnic armed organizations and representatives understand the wish of the people who aspire to have peace and held meetings with the Head of State in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Prime Minister discussed two basic factors on a multiparty democratic system the entire people aspire to and building the Union based on democracy and federalism.

They planned to hold further discussions on amendments to the Constitution (2008) etc.

The Vice-Senior General stressed that the Tatmadaw gives training to Tatmadaw members to have military capabilities to keep abreast of international armed forces.

The whole Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) needs to abide by the rules of engagement (ROE). The military code of conduct mentions measures of humanitarian, human rights, and facts about ROE.

Officials need to manage to fulfil the basic needs, education and health sectors of officers, other ranks and families for fostering the family spirit in the military units.

Then, the Vice-Senior General fulfilled the needs of officers, other ranks and families. The Vice-Senior General presented foodstuffs to Tatmadaw members and families from respective military stations through officials.

After the meetings, the Vice-Senior General cordially greeted Tatmadaw members and families.

In the afternoon, the Vice-Senior General and party viewed teaching the children at the basic education primary school of the local battalion in Buthidaung station and fulfilled the needs of teachers.

Likewise, the Vice-Senior General visited the housings of families at the local battalion in Kyauktaw station and cordially greeted them.
