







The Loikaw University in Kayah State will officially open on October 13. In the morning on October 12, a meeting to encourage the teachers and staff who will be serving, as well as to distribute financial assistance, awards, and basic necessities was held at the Loikaw University assembly hall.
The event was attended by the State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin and relevant officials. In his welcoming and encouraging speech, the Chief Minister stated that under the guidance of the Head of State and the supervision of the state government, efforts have been ongoing since June 5 to reopen Loikaw University so that local students can peacefully continue their university education in their own region and to prevent any lag in education.
He confirmed that the university is now ready to resume teaching. He urged the teachers to diligently fulfill their responsibilities and to report any needs or difficulties they encounter. Following that, the Pro-Rector Dr. Min Thaung provided a detailed report on the conditions for reopening the university, the return and duties of the staff, the classrooms, library, dormitories for teachers and students, the provision of school furniture and supplies, and the completion of preparations for the university's community hall and sports field. Subsequently, the Chief Minister of the state handed over cash awards to the university and the staff who would be serving, which were received by the Pro-Rector.
Then, the state government ministers distributed basic food items such as rice, oil, eggs, and dried noodles, which were received by representatives of the staff. Following this, the staff reported their difficulties and needs, and the Chief Minister conveyed the situations that would be addressed, coordinating and negotiating with responsible officials.
He also warmly greeted and encouraged the teachers and staff. Afterwards, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the main building of Loikaw University, the accommodation arrangements for the professors, lecturers, and instructors who would be serving, and the dormitories, bathrooms, sanitation facilities, and dining halls prepared for the students to study peacefully. They also reviewed the condition of classrooms, theaters, furniture, and sanitation facilities, noting necessary requirements and coordinating with the responsible officials.
