Meeting in Pyay: Acting President visits Pyay in Bago Region

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with the departmental staff, townselders and MSME entrepreneurs in Pyay District of Bago Region on Sunday.

Officials reported on the development undertakings in the district, MSME industry, agriculture and livestock breeding tasks, education promotion, preparation for the election and transportation access. Attendees also reported on the needs for development of the region.

The Union Ministers and the Chief Minister explained the work undertakings for achieving peace and stability, combating crimes and drug trafficking, security measures during the upcoming election, renovation of ancient cultural zone, tourism development, loan disbursement, oil and gas exploration and preservation of natural resources.

The Acting President discussed the implementations for tourism development, boosting production for increase exports, agriculture and livestock development with producing value-added products for import substitution. He also called for cooperation in the upcoming multi-party general election.

After the meeting, the Acting President and party viewed the display of MSME products. They then visited the Baw Baw Gyi Pagoda, located in the west of Sri Ksetra ancient town, where officials reported on the conservation works. The Acting President instructed for long term durability of the ancient structures, ensuring systematic maintenance works.

Then, the Acting President and wife paid homage to the pagoda, offering flowrs, water and light. They later paid homage the pagoda in a clockwise position and instructed officials for long term maintenance of the pagoda.
