












Acting President Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing separately met with departmental officials and township elders in the respective halls of Lahe and Leshi Townships in the Naga Self-Administered Zone, Sagaing Region, on the afternoon of February 16, and discussed matters related to regional development.
First, Chairman of Naga Self-Administered Zone Leading Body U Tun Tun Win and Chairman of Leshi Township Administration and Management Committee U Win Maung explained regional data, measures taken for regional stability and peace, the successful holding of the multi-party democracy general election, regional development activities, and the needs of the local population.
Regarding the submissions, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and the Region Chief Minister clarified and discussed the measures already taken and the future plans to be submitted for implementation. Afterwards, the Acting President SSPC Chairman, stated that his visit was to facilitate necessary actions for the development of the Naga region.
He mentioned that arrangements would continue to be made for constructing a festival ground and a multipurpose hall to hold traditional festivals in Lahe Town. Priority would be given to improving roads connecting the Naga region to the mainland to ensure better transportation links.
He noted that the Chindwin River Bridge (Htamanthi) was able to be opened today to facilitate transportation. He also discussed the ongoing upgrading of roads by fiscal year to improve connectivity, the deployment of military specialist doctors since 2012 to address the shortage of doctors for Lahe Township Hospital in the Naga region, plans to address the shortage of teachers in schools, and the need to expand agricultural and livestock farming in the region.
Subsequently, the Acting President SSPC Chairman presented gift items to departmental officials from Lahe and Leshi Townships.
The Chairman of the Naga Self-Administered Zone Leading Body, the Chairman of the Naga Traditional Literature and Culture Committee, and responsible officials respectfully draped the Acting President SSPC Chairman with Naga traditional headgear, shawls, and presented traditional gift items. Following this, the Acting President SSPC Chairman cordially greeted the departmental officials, township elders, and local ethnic people who attended the meetings, it’s learnt.
