Meeting with Farmers: Distribution of winter crop seeds and fertilizers

Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win met with local farmers in Daik-U Township, Nyaunglebin District, and attended the ceremony to distribute winter crop seeds and fertilizers.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister urged farmers to expand cultivation of beans and oil crops for export, avoid using chemical pesticides, and increase productivity through better irrigation systems. He also encouraged the use of natural fertilizers, mixed in proper ratios and the expansion of chicken and duck farming to a commercial scale.

He then handed over crop seeds, and fertilizers to local farmers and encouraged them to strive for food security and higher income. Later, the Chief Minister visited the duck farm in Pyinmalwin village, where 7,000 Khaki Campbell ducks are being raised successfully with government support.

He also visited Letkhokkwin village, where 10,000 native chickens and 5,000 ducks are being raised, along with fishponds for animal feed production. Afterwards, he inspected a successful pilot paddy plantation on previously uncultivable sandy soil in Katote Phaya Gyi village-tract, noting an impressive yield of 110 baskets per acre, and instructed officials to expand the variety to similar farmlands across the township.
