











Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with military officers, Tatmadawmen and families of the stations under Yangon Command on Saturday.
In his speech, the Senior General stressed the Tatmadaw's efforts for non-disintegration of the union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty in successive eras and governments under various political systems.
He emphasized that Tatmadaw has taken the state responsibility in 1988 after the uprising, paving way to foster the multi-party democratic system, with the successful holding of election in 2010. Tatmadaw, joining hands with the then President U Thein Sein's government, carried out the necessary reforms to be in compliance with the democracy system.
In 2015, the second democracy government took the state's responsibility, but has faced decline of economy due to mismanagement. Tatmadaw has to take the state's responsibility due to the electoral frauds during 2020 general election.
He reiterated that Tatmadaw has to overcome various obstacles such as riots and armed insurgencies, territory expansion of ethnic armed organizations, COVID-19 pandemic, and various natural disasters. Despite these challenges, Tatmadaw is making efforts for achieving peace, stability and development in the nation.
He urged all to make cooperation for successful holding of upcoming election, for emergence of modern developed nation in the future. During the meeting, foodstuff and cash assistance were presented for the military officers, Tatmadawmen and families as well as for the maternal and child welfare association.
