







While on a working visit to Beijing, People’s Republic of China, the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with families of the Myanmar Embassy and the Military Attaché Office, as well as Myanmar students, at the Embassy of Myanmar in Beijing at 5:00 p.m.
local time on September 2nd. At the beginning of the event, the Myanmar Ambassador to China and the Military Attaché introduced the embassy and military attaché office families individually. In his address, the Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission stated that he was in China at the invitation of Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 Plus and the military parade marking the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
He highlighted that participation in such international events yields beneficial outcomes for the country. , the Acting President explained that during the working visit, he had held meetings with the President of China, the Prime Minister of India, and the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, achieving positive results.
He added that Myanmar continues to enjoy cordial and developing relations with its neighboring countries and is likewise cooperating closely with ASEAN member states to strengthen ties. The Acting President further discussed ongoing efforts toward achieving internal peace, preparations underway to hold elections in December, and the importance of boosting domestic production.
He urged Myanmar diplomats and students abroad to contribute, each within their capacity, to the country’s development. Following his remarks, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman, presented food provisions and cash of honor to the embassy and military attaché office families, as well as to Myanmar students.
These were accepted by the Ambassador and his spouse, military attachés (Army, Navy, and Air) and his spouse, along with embassy families and students. Later, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman signed the Guest of Honour Book of the Embassy of Myanmar in Beijing and cordially greeted embassy and military attaché office families.
