





Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan visited the temporary displacement camp at Sitta Thukha Monastery in Sitapu Ward, Myitkyina, Monday evening to meet with displaced households sheltering there. The camp currently houses 24 families from Shwe Nyaung Pin Village in Waingmaw Township. The Chief Minister provided relief supplies worth a total of 2.536 million kyats, including 24 bags of rice (each containing 24 pyi) and 24 viss of cooking oil. The camp in-charge expressed gratitude and presented the needs of the displaced families.
The Chief Minister then coordinated with relevant state-level departmental officials to help address the living and food requirements of the camp residents and offered words of encouragement to the families.
Afterward, the Chief Minister inspected the temporary housing shelters within Sitta Thukha Monastery. As it is currently the rainy season, he coordinated with responsible officials to ensure that necessary repairs and maintenance of the shelters could be carried out as quickly as possible. Donations were also offered to the Presiding Sayadaw of the monastery, it’s reported.
