







Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn met with the representative staff from 6 departments who will be attending the Global South Media and Advanced Think Tank Forum, which will take place in Kunming City of Yunnan Province, China, at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 27th August.
Also present at the meeting were the deputy minister, permanent secretary, departmental officials and the delegation. First, the director-general of Myanma Radio and Television made a clarification regarding the trip. Then, the Union Minister stated that the trip is crucial as it is a China-Myanmar Friendship trip and urged the delegation to be responsible individually or as a group in order to promote the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Representative staff from the six departments together with the representatives from private media outlets and organizations will be present in the trip and in addition to the cooperation for the media sector, Myanmar’s natural environment and Culture, Myanmar’s traditional dances and marionette art and Myanmar’s handicrafts will be introduced.
The Union Minister urged all to make a cooperation to be a successful trip that can promote the country’s image. Next, dance troupes from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and Myanma Radio and Television who will be participating in the opening ceremony of the expo of the forum made full-dressed demonstrations and marionette performances.
Then, the representatives made reports regarding the facts to be discussed and performances on which the Union Minister coordinated the needs. After that, the Union Minister viewed round the Myanmar Traditional Handicrafts which will be displayed at the expo by the Ministries of Cooperatives and Rural Development and Hotels and Tourism.
36 representatives from the Ministries and 17 from private media outlets and organizations, totaling 53 will be taking part in the Global South Media and Advanced Think Tank Forum that will take place in Kunming City from 4th to 8th September.
