Media Industry: Union Minister makes inspection in Yangon

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected Myanmar International Radio (MIR) and SkyNet TV broadcasting process of the Shwe Than Lwin Media Co., Ltd. On Friday afternoon in Yangon.

During the inspection, the Union Minister heard report on the Myanmar International Radio's daily FM broadcast status from 6 am to 12 pm, administration and management before giving necessary instructions.

And, the Union Minister inspected the MIR studio. The Myanmar International Radio has been broadcasting programmes for 5 years now which include religious affairs, English and Chinese languages teaching and modern and classic music.

The SkyNet TV with since 2010 has been broadcasting a large number of programmes including sports and movies. The Union Minister also inspected the studios of the Myanmar International Radio. He also heard report on the history of the Shwe Than Lwin Media Co., Ltd. and its media industry processes.

In his response, the Union Minister called on concerned officials to fulfill the people's right to information with good intentions and stressed the importance of the interests of the state and citizens, media ethics, clearing up broadcasts of fake news by broadcast of true news. He also called for efforts to quickly broadcast the actual state of the country in English at the Myanmar International Radio.
