Making Field Trip: Preparations For Constructing Jetty

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint and Deputy Minister U Zaw Aye Maung inspected the wharf berthing at the Botahtaung jetty to undertake carrying of pier to be built at the National Races Village (Yangon) for berthing the vessels, docking and preparatory tasks on 16th May.

During his inspection, officials reported measures for the construction of the wharf, docking and preparation tasks. In response to the reports, the Union Minister and the deputy minister gave instruction on completion of the tasks within the target time and meeting set standard. The Union Minister and the deputy minister proceeded to National Races Village (Yangon) in Thakayta Township and met with the staff.

On the occasion, the Union Minister said that construction of jetty is underway to access to the National Races Village (Yangon) by cruise vessels via Bago River.

The Union Minister stressed on beautifying of the village, reporting the work progress every three months and drilling artesian wells for getting water at the ethnic houses in the village.

The Deputy Minister also said that it needs to be submitted the future works to be done in the national races village (Yangon) by drafting plans and the works are necessary for the benefit of the nation. The Union Minister and party then looked into the proposed sites for digging artesian wells and constructing jetty.
