Maintenance & Upgrading: Road and Bridge Construction and maintenance inspected

Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay together with Mandalay Region Minister for Natural Resources U Myo Aung inspected development of transportation sector, swift flow of commodities and progress of roads and bridges that are being undertaken with B.O.T system in Mandalay Region on 19th June.

First, the Union Minister and party looked into maintenance of Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin (up/down) road session by Oriental Highway Company, road safety in Pyin Oo Lwin and plan to extend detour road for the smooth transportation and gave necessary instructions.

They then looked into the entrance road to Zeebin Gyi Fire Service Training School linking to Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin road. During the inspection, the Union Minister said the upgrading and extension of roads aims for smooth transportation access of rural people.

He stressed the needs on expansion of box culverts and called for reporting the needs after coordinating with the region cabinet members and relevant ministries.

The Union Minister and party then arrived at Doke Htawady Bridge (Shwe Sar Yan) and called for durability of the bridge and beautifying tasks.

Then then looked into leveling of Ohn Chaw- Shwe Sar Yan- Belin road and laying concretes, road safety, progress of detour road and completed construction of Zawgyi bridge No.2.

They also inspects maintenance of Yangon-Bago-TaungOo-Mandalay Union Highway, construction of new Yay Wun Bridge and called for meeting set standard.
