


French President Emmanuel Macron welcomes his South Korean counterpart Lee Jae Myung to the Elysee Palace, the day after the two leaders announced they would invest one billion euros to support the audiovisual and entertainment sector at a summit on the future of cinema.
On September 7th, French President Emmanuel Macron called for cinema to be protected in the age of artificial intelligence and streaming platforms, as he hosted a summit with global entertainment chiefs including major US studio bosses. Executives from streaming giant Netflix and social media platform TikTok attended the event.
At the event, Macron announced the creation of an organization, with a budget of 30 million euros, aimed at supporting independent cinema.
