Many celebrations have been held in China's Macao Special Administrative Region, as the 20th anniversary of its return to the motherland is approaching, which falls on Dec 20. The 2019 Macao Light Festival is underway near the Nam Van Lake. This year's light festival, which will last to Dec 31, includes light carving shows, lighting arts and interactive games, to present the integration of Macao's culture and the changes of the city since its return to the motherland.

On Monday, a total of 20 fishing boats took part in a special parade to express best wishes to the motherland and Macao. The organizer also arranged a blessing ceremony and lion dance before the ships set sail. A similar parade was held in 1999, when Macao returned to motherland. The event was held again after 20 years, recalling many unforgettable memories in the hearts of local people.
