Long lines formed outside a bakery in Gaza

Long lines formed outside a bakery in Deir al-Balah amid shortages of flour and fuel as Israel’s war in Gaza rages on.

Hungry people, packed tightly together, held out their coins in the hope of buying a bag of bread to take home to their families.The victims reportedly suffocated due to the mass of people pressing together.

Earlier this week, the World Food Program announced that all bakeries in central Gaza had shut down because of a lack of supplies. Last month, the World Food Program said that nearly 2 million people in Gaza will face acute food insecurity or worse in the coming months.
