











A ceremony to commemorate the International Youth Day 2025 was organized by the Bago Region Youth Affairs Committee. It included a men's and women's long-distance running race, which was held in Bago in the morning on August 12.
First, Bago Region Social Affairs Minister U Myo Aung fired the starting gunshot, officially opening the race. Male and female long-distance runners from various townships in the region competed along a designated route. They were cheered on enthusiastically by departmental officials, the public, teachers, students, and social organizations lining the route.
The official International Youth Day 2025 ceremony then took place at the City Hall, attended by Bago Region Youth Affairs Committee Chairman, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, and his wife.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win delivered an opening address. He then presented medals and cash prizes to the first, second, and third-place winners of the men's long-distance race. Following this, the Chief Justice of Region High Court and region ministers awarded medals and cash prizes to the top three female runners and to those who finished in places 4 through 30. The Chairperson of the Bago Region Women's Affairs Committee awarded medals and cash prizes to the first, second, and third-place winners of the International Youth Day essay and article competitions. Finally, the Region Advocate General presented honorary awards to the participants of the International Youth Day youth dialogue.
Next, the Vice Chairman of Bago Region Youth Affairs Committee, Social Affairs Minister U Myo Aung, read a message to mark International Youth Day. A video clip documenting the day's events was then screened for the Chief Minister and officials. The Bago Region Aerobics trainees gave a demonstration, and the Chief Minister and his wife presented them with an award for their performance. Then, the Chief Minister and officials toured the exhibition booths.
