Loans to oil millers: Aiming at expansion and upgrading local oil mills

To effectuate the development of the local oil milling industry, the Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection (DISI) will disburse loans to oil millers.

Thein Swe, Director General, DISI said "To secure the local oil consumption, the oil milling industries need to expend and upgrade their businesses. Therefore, the oil millers who want to set up new machines for their industries and the ones who need working capital to operate their businesses and who want to establish new oil mill can submit the loan proposal forms to us on 27 December. According to the proposals, the officials can do survey on the average amount of the loan that the oil millers require for their industries."

As the loan management committee was formed, the loan proposals will be submitted to the committee to decide the amount of fund to pay out necessary loan. The directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection will also conduct surveys to the oil milling industries across the country together with the department of consumer affairs.

To reduce the imports of edible oil from foreign countries and to improve the oil production to be able to export to foreign countries, the local oil milling industries must be operated efficiently to boost the production of the quality edible oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil and soybean oil.
