Livestock Sector : Efforts for development of livestock industry

Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation has been providing the needs for development of livestock sector including technology. On Sunday, Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi and officials visited the private livestock farms in Pyinmana Township where they inspected the boiler breeding, meat distribution and dairy production.

During the meeting with livestock entrepreneurs, the Deputy Minister explained the provision of State Economic Promotion Fund for enhancing investment in private sector and urged to coordinate in cultivation systems, feeding and discease control.

Likewise, the Deputy Minister observed private piggery in Kyi Taung Village of Zeyathiri Township and official reported on keeping of pigs with cold storage system and production of biogas from faeces. Upon the reports, the Deputy MInister instructed to ensure bio-safety measures, vaccination and disease surveillance. 

After that, he inspected the strength of Paung Laung Dam, water inflow, overflow of spillway and water distribution and coordinated the needs. At the Yezin Fishery Station, the Deputy Minister inspected a Model Farm on Good Aquaculture Practice, fish breeding pond and nursery ponds  and stressed to conduct training courses on Aquaculture, fish breeding and incubation.
