







Yangon Region Library Supervisory Committee organized basic library education course batch-1 at the Sports and Physical Education (Yangon) from 13th to 15th June.
Vice Chairman, Yangon Region Library Supervisory Committee, Maung Maung Oo said "I teach library marketing, reference task and formation of library. We share the library education as much as possible. The course was organized by Yangon Region Government and we present worthily awards. It is more successful than expectation as we use camping for this 3-day course."
Official added that there are three categories for choosing the awards; the first one is class attendance and making discussion during the course period, the second is assessments from lectures and attendees and third one is cooperating in discussions, giving the suggestions.
The attendees also shared what they have learnt during the training and new experiences.
1st Prize Winner, Thiha Baw Zan (ALinn Yaung Library) said "This training is like short period of learning. We need more practice in writing the catalogues and classification processes. This 3-day course is really beneficial for me in learning library education including inexperienced things."
50 librarians from 120 libraries in Yangon Region attended the 3-day basic library education course batch-1. Library scholars and Yangon Region Library Supervisory Committee selected the outstanding librarians who were presented the first, second and third prizes respectively.
