Library Dev. & Reading Promotion: Tanintharyi Region CM attended and opened the festival

Organized by the Tanintharyi Region Government, jointly organized by the Information and Public Relations Department and the Education Department, the "Festival for Library Development and Reading Promotion," was held at the Basic Education High School No. (8) in Dawei, on Wednesday.

First, the Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko, the Region Chief Justice, the Region Minister for Economic Affairs, the Director of the Region Information and Public Relations Department, and the Region Director of Education Department cut the ribbon to open the "Festival "

Following this, students from BEHS No. (8), Pyinnya Yaung Chi Private High School, and Training Middle School performed songs, while Drum and Bugle band and a Pom Pom dance group provided musical and dance entertainment. The Chief Minister and officials watched the performances with support, and the Region Government awarded cash of honor.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and officials toured the "Festival for Library Development and Reading Promotion," viewing exhibition photos documenting the festival's activities, high school-level impromptu speech competitions, high school-level essay writing competitions, middle school-level essay writing competitions, middle school-level reading comprehension competitions, primary school-level storytelling competitions, and puzzle competitions. The Chief Minister warmly greeted the participating students and presented them with gifts of school exercise books.

The approximately 1,750 students from BEHS No. (8), Pyinnya Yaung Chi Private High School, and Training Middle School attended the "Festival for Library Development and Reading Promotion." They showed great interest in viewing the exhibited photo boards and book exhibitions and participated joyfully in the competitions. Prizes will be awarded to the competition participants and winners on September 11, it’s reported.
