Swiss photographer Robert Frank was commemorated in an exhibition that opened in Berlin on Thursday. The travelling exhibition, "Robert Frank, Unseen", had been scheduled to open at the city's C/O Gallery but gained distress after Frank's death on September 9 at the age of 94.
Born in Zurich on November 9, 1924, Frank was best known for his collection of photographs published in the book 'The Americans', which featured candid images of everyday U.S. life. First published in France in 1958, the book's photographs were taken during a thousand-mile journey across the United States. The Berlin exhibition is scheduled to run until November 30.
