





The Ministry of Legal Affairs organized a ceremony to award Russian language diplomas in conjunction with the language proficiency showcase at its headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
Union Minister and Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the event as the ministry’s first of its kind. She emphasized the ministry’s strategic plan for 2025–2029, “Building Legal Trust for the People”, which includes international cooperation and capacity building for legal officers.
The Russian language training was part of a collaboration with Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office. The one-year course, conducted by experts from the Defence Services Academy and native speakers, lasted from September 30, 2024, to August 15, 2025, with 220 days and 1,320 hours of instruction. A total of 38 legal officers completed the course and were awarded diplomas. Two officers will continue further legal studies in Russia.
