Key to Progress: 75th Diamond Jubilee of DRI celebrated

The Department of Research and Innovation was established in 1947 as the "State Industrial Research Institute" and now in 2022 December, it has turned 75th Diamond Jubilee.

Present at the celebration of 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee of Department of Research and Innovation (DRI) held on 28th December were Union minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw and officials concerned, retired servants who served by the years, present staffs, MSME entrepreneurs and invited guests. 

Retired Service Personnel, Myo Wai said "From 1981 to 2005, so nearly 25 years I served my duty at the department. During that period, the department has changed several names. Even though times change, the main task of our department is only for the research benefits for the nation. I’m so pleased that seeing such continuous implementations successfully till now. I wish our research department to be more successfull and last as long as the nation exists."

Entrepreneur, Thuzar Win said "For the fuel pellets, as it provides technologies till to the lab processes, I’d say that the very essential department for the SMEs. I want this department to get long existence for our country Myanmar. "

Through changing of its names by the time being implementing research and development policies laid down by the State, the DRI has conducted research works, technological transfer and the adoption of Myanmar Standards. 

Deputy Director General, Renewable Energy and Electronic Technology Research Center, Dr. Zaw Min Hlaing said "Today’s event is highly beneficial because I do believe that the new generation will be able to implement for socio-economic development of the nation following the guidance of the seniors, applying the modern technologies. It also raises cooperation and coordination between old and new generations to be beneficial for the country."

At the event, local MSME entrepreneurs and students who won the prizes at regional and international entrepreneurship competitions were presented the awards too.
