Kenyan President William Ruto pledged an additional 600 officers for the UN-backed mission to Haiti, following a meeting with Haiti's visiting prime minister Garry Conille, as both urge the international community to "urgently" do more.

"Officers are working closely with the Haitian National Police to restore order, structure and create safe spaces where Haitians can thrive," Ruto said at a joint press conference with Conille in Kenya's capital Nairobi.
