KengTung Buddha Park: Progress of Construction Works Inspected

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party on Tuesday visited the Buddha Park near PanKwe  Village, about 15 miles southeast of KengTung. The Prime Minister and party paid homage to Abaya Raja Muni  Buddha Image and donated flowers and water. They also viewed the life stories of Buddha, curving in marble slabs. The Prime Minister later inspected the Sky Train Project which will link Buddha Park and LoiMwe  Hill Resort.

The Prime and party also inspected the viewpoint in the compound of Buddha Park and construction of dam for supplying drinking water to the Buddha Park and neary villages.

Officials reported on the work progress and work undertakings for prevention of floods in KengTung. The Prime Minister stressed to reduce the use of underground water, and store the water naturally by building dam.

He also instructed to carry out dredging of silt in rivers and creeks for more inflow of water during monsoon, and to implement solar-power water pumping project to supply irrigated water to the farmers. They later inspected the construction of Thata Thataha  Maha Bodhi Ceti, which has been initiated by the Vasipake Sayadaw, and the ordination hall.
